Dr Khayyam Uddin is a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist. He has twelve years of experience in the field of psychiatry in NHS. He has completed his core training and higher training in the UK and has achieved CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in General Adult Psychiatry and is on specialist register with GMC.

He has been working in the field of psychiatry since 2011 in the NHS. Dr Uddin is also an Approved Clinician and has Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act approval. He is working as a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist for Home based treatment community team. He has vast experience in working with an ethno-culturally diverse population of Greater Manchester with mental health needs.

He has written several psychiatric reports for the courts both for Forensic as well as General adult acute inpatients.

He has worked in a wide range of services in the UK, including community mental health teams as well as general and forensic inpatient psychiatric services. Patient is the centre of care. With the passage of time, he has developed himself to understand and feel the pulse of emotions and feelings of the patient. He is psychologically minded looking at patient`s history and current dynamics affecting patient`s mental health.

Dr Uddin has knowledge and skills base of the range of conditions including ADHD, Anxiety disorders, Bipolar affective disorder, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Perinatal psychiatry, Personality Disorders, Phobias, PTSD, Schizophrenia/psychosis, Acute stress reaction.

As a clinician, I deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to adults with ADHD, drawing on harm reduction, motivational enhancement approaches to support individuals with complex mental health and social needs. My practice emphasises a holistic, socially informed understanding of patients’ lives, recognising the impact of occupational, educational, relational, and community factors on wellbeing.

I provide comprehensive diagnostic assessment of ADHD, personalised treatment planning, and ongoing therapeutic support, working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and with external agencies. I am committed to promoting autonomy, reducing stigma, and empowering individuals with ADHD to achieve meaningful, sustainable improvements in functioning, health, and quality of life.
