Dr Ehab Khattab is a Consultant Psychiatrist in Learning Disabilities at North East London NHS Foundation Trust and a full Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

After graduating from Cairo University Medical School, he completed his psychiatric and specialist training in the UK and obtained specialist certification in the psychiatry of Learning Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). He also holds a Master’s degree in mental health from the University of Kent.

With over 15 years of consultant-level experience, Dr Khattab specialises in the assessment and diagnosis of autism in adults. He has a particular interest in the presentation of autism in females and in individuals with co-existing mental health, neurodevelopmental, or learning disability conditions, areas in which autism may be frequently overlooked or misdiagnosed.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Khattab is a Clinical Supervisor, an Examiner for the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and a Tutor at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He is also Section 12 approved and a qualified Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Assessor.

Dr Khattab is committed to providing thorough, evidence-based assessments informed by current research, helping individuals gain a clearer understanding of their neurodiversity and access appropriate support.
